One Fine Day

A date in this years’ calendar that will go down in history is October 10, 2010 and to this family it will do just that for a special reason.
Without a cloud in sight and a temperature of 81 degrees, a bright, sunny day is the first visit to the beach for nine-month-old Landon with his Aunt, Katie Smolen, 22, and Grandmother, Janice Smolen, 57, in front of the Redington Long Pier located on Redington Shores at 17490 Gulf Blvd. While Katie was feeding Landon, seagulls came from different directions to try and grab a bite to eat. The current was smooth with the wind blowing 5 to 10 knots and the surf 1 to 2 feet. The UV scale was at an 8, heating the water temperature to 78 degrees.
